English NEMO-Online No. 3 : Call for papers Research groups  CERMAA, ICONEA and PLM are seeking papers for the third issue of NEMO. The theme will be about ‘Myths and truths in Music from the Antiquity to the Present.’ (Mesopotamia, Asia, Egypt, Africa, Greece, Rome, Byzantium, the Occident and beyond.) Myths and legends always have had their purpose in the building-up of history and of its truisms such as with magical powers of the lyre and others. (French) Frédéric Billiet et François Picard, professeurs de musicologie à l’Université de Paris Sorbonne, rejoignent le Comité de rédaction de Nemo-Online : leurs compétences viennent compléter celle des autres membres en apportant des expertises sur, notamment, la musique ancienne et en ethnomusicologie analytique. Frédéric Billiet est le directeur de l’UFR (Unité de Formation et de Recherches) de Musique et Musicologie de l’Université Paris Sorbonne, et François Picard est le directeur de l’équipe de recherche Patrimoines et Langages Musicaux (PLM) au sein de l’université. NEMO-Online a l’immense plaisir d’annoncer l’entrée de deux nouveaux membres dans le comité de rédaction de NEMO-Online, qui sont Siam Bhayro, de l’Université d’Exeter et membre d’ICONEA, et Laurent Cugny de l’Université Paris-Sorbonne et membre de l’OMF. Leurs compétences viennent heureusement élargir l’horizon de la revue, en incluant les langues sémitiques et le jazz entre autres apports nouveaux et complémentaires. La liste des membres a été actualisée sur le site de NEMO : la Bibliographie de la modalité devrait également et bientôt, avec la participation active de Laurent Cugny, être élargie à la modalité “jazz”.

Launching of NEMO Online (Near-Eastern Musicology Online) The Research Groups ICONEA and CERMAA are delighted to announce the launch of NEMO Online (Near-Eastern Musicology Online), a new periodical dedicated to Near and Middle Eastern musicology. NEMO is dedicated to researches into ancient and present Near and Middle-Eastern music. It also addresses all other musical expressions which may contribute to the enlightenment of its initial aims. Disciplines for this field of research extend from archaeomusicology to analytical musicology and include historical, systematic, cognitive and anthropological musicology, as well as ethnomusicology. Création de NEMO-Online (Near-Eastern Musicology Online) Les centres de recherches ICONEA et CERMAA ont le plaisir d’annoncer la fondation d’une nouvelle revue consacrée aux musiques du Proche-Orient, Near-Eastern Musicology Online (NEMO Online).   Présentation de NEMO (Near-Eastern Musicology Online) : NEMO est dédiée aux recherches sur les musiques anciennes et actuelles du Proche et du Moyen-Orient, ainsi qu’aux autres musiques qui peuvent enrichir ces recherches. Les moyens d’étude de ce champ interdisciplinaire s’étendent de l’archéomusicologie à la musicologie analytique, y compris des approches historiques, systématiques, cognitives, ethnomusicologiques ou anthropologiques.
